At today’s FIGC meeting that saw Carlo Tavecchio instated as the Serie A commissioner, Video Assistant Referees (VAR) was confirmed for next season and will be in full swing the following season. Marcello Nicchi, the president of the Italian refeeres association spoke on the news: “We’ll start with VAR from the first day of next season, moving it forward a year, We’re waiting for approval from the International Football Association Board. For the Coppa Italia final it won’t be there.”
