During the interview with ‘Double Coffee’ on INTER Channel, Mauro Icardi backs himself on the criticisms that he receives about the lack of participation in the game:

Lack of participation in games? “I have often responded to this statement. I can say that the striker’s job serves to stretch the defense. Playing with an attacking midfielder and two wings, I cannot move back too much otherwise it would get crowded and no one gets the ball. My job as a striker is to first stretch the defense, but no one sees it. We talk about it in the field, but people from outside can not see. It is true that I have improved a lot, especially thanks to Mancini. With Mazzarri he focused on certain things but with Mancio I had to do more things on the pitch.”
