According to Sportitalia, in the meeting between Piero Ausilio and the well-known agent Giuseppe Riso, an Inter defensive target was discussed in the dinner:
The name Sime Vrsaljko was a topic and a target Inter have following since his Dinamo Zagreb days. It will be difficult but not impossible that Atletico Madrid sell Vrsaljko because of the transfer ban by FIFA which would not allow the Croatian to join the Nerazzurri immediately. Inter, however, are currently concentrating on the Dalbert negotiation, a player that is a top priority for Sabatini and Ausilio.
