Milito: “We created lots of chances but failed to convert them”

Diego Milito started his interview with Premium Calcio by commenting on the alleged pressure Inter felt after Juventus crushed Pescara 6-1: “I don’t think it has affected us, of course we’re chasing them. Today we are disappointed with the loss, but we knew it was a difficult ground and we played against an excellent team. We also played a very good game, we created lots of chances but failed to convert them. We look forward to doing our season. Juventus are doing something extraordinary, winning all games and if they continue like this it will be difficult to catch up to them.”

“Now we focus on Cagliari, we are in the twelft round, the team has many new players and we can still grow. How many goals I can score? I work every day to get better and help the team. The fundamental thing are the victories, I try to get better day by day. Other than us there are Lazio and Napoli, teams that will fight until the end to reach the finish line. Together with Inter they will try to bother Juve. Milan? It’s a big club, a good team that has taken fewer points than they have before. I didn’t expect them to begin like they have done.”

In an interview with Sky: “It was a difficult game for us attackers, we knew Atalanta was a good team. I am disappointed by the loss, but we created a lot of chances and therefore we look forward, it is still a lot left of the league and we’re having an excellent season. It’s a loss that is hard to digest but starting tomorrow we focus on Cagliari.” Now comes a week in which the team can practice calmly: “Yeah, some players are leaving for their national teams but to pull the chord and practice for seven days is important to us. It’s a loss without alibis, the fatigue from the game in the Europa League was felt, but now we look ahead. It has worked well with both the three- and four man defense. We have a team that is well structured for playing with both formations.”

What did Stramaccioni say after the game? “We haven’t seen the coach because he went to the pressroom. Tomorrow we will talk about the errors that were made today. The penalty was probably non-existing, things happen that are to our advantage and to our disadvantage, patience.”
