Interviewed by Mediaset Premium at White Hart Lane, Andrea Stramaccioni talks about the difficult defeat against Tottenham tonight.

“A very heavy result. Tottenham were far superior this evening, mainly at the physical aspect of the game, and you could see this in all three goals. There is a great bitterness for loss of concentration when we finally had the opportunity to get back into the game. So right now it’s very heavy. Today we were forced to make a few choices and Tottenham are without a doubt the team that has put us in most difficulties all season in the physical aspect. I congratulate them for this. In the first half Bale was devastating, and Cambiasso gave it his all. In the second half Vertonghen went up really well, to congratulations to Tottenham who used their strengths. Why did Palacio strart on the bench? He has played very much lately, and Cassano was much fresher. For us it was important not to lose any more players to injuries. We gave it our all to honor the game but our objective is still the 3rd place.”

He also talks about the difficult times in the first half.

“Today the squad started well mentally. The goal within the first ten minutes by Bale did put us in difficulties and helped them to play their football. But we have players with great experience that can read these games. Today though, we were climbing uphill from the very beginning of the match. The thing that I regret the most is that we weren’t able to capitalize on the two chances we had. When you’re alone against the goal-keeper you have score. If we would have went 2-1 into half-time the game would have looked different.”
