Tomorrow Inter turn 105 years old; a unique club worthy of a birthday to be celebrated together with its fans.
“Unique, because becoming an Inter fan means being ready to experience a life that brings constant emotions. It’s like setting out on an adventurous trip. It’s not a comfortable one. In fact, it’s one that can be uncomfortable, yet one that gives you so many emotions that are impossible to forget. This is Inter and the type of trip that the team takes you on.
“Tomorrow is the birthday. Inter have been around for many years. Many positive ones in terms of tradition, and positive in terms of the love that has grown for this team. Love, but also criticism, which is owed to the fact that our fans are direct and sincere. An Inter fan feels as if he were the owner of the club, and such a thing doesn’t bother me at all, because I felt that way myself when I was a fan. It’s perfectly right to feel that way and consider the club in such a way, because feelings are worth more than the money that is put into the club. Therefore, feeling this type of closeness with the club causes the fans to get carried away by its special charm.
“We can celebrate this special charm one day each year regardless of what’s happening on the pitch, and this day is the one we call Inter’s birthday. It was a day in which many gentlemen wearing hats, ties and monocles, rather than the umbrellas that were carried back then, got together and thought that a new club was needed. New from every possible standpoint, and with an international mentality that would be represented in its name. And that’s how it’s remained. It’s also remained that way from a player standpoint, since they come here from all over the world and remain very close to the club.
