Zanetti Salme

Captain Javier Zanetti did not hide after the heavy loss at White Hart Lane and was interviewed by Sky: “We knew we faced an opponent in great shape and that this is an arena that is always difficult to play on. But I say that the match could have been designed in a different way and their first goal ruined our plans. They are good at putting the ball in motion with counter attacks that are important and they put us in difficulty. This is a shame because we had two or three clear scoring opportunities that could have made the return leg more open. But you never know. Now, however, we’re focusing on Sunday.”

How do you change the way you approach the games? The captain replied, “In recent times we have made mistakes in the first halves. We must find a way to be more concentrated in the first minutes to allow the team to deliver it’s best.”

The absence of Walter Samuel: “Mistakes can happen, it happens to everyone. Samuel is missed and not just him: we have had so many injuries and it has influenced the coach in his attempt to rotate the squad over the past few months when we’ve had many matches. But we have no time to complain because there’s an important challenge coming up on Sunday against Bologna.”
