Stramaccionis men lost another game and another player, this time the player was none other than Javier Zanetti who’s never injured:
“I’m not a doctor, but a torn achilles tondon is a hard knock for us because Zanettis value for this group is very big even in a moment like this. We didn’t need this injury and I’m having a hard time to comment it. We let a goal in on our own mistake, but then we gave our everything on the field and had many chances in the second half to score, even though we didn’t have the strength in the attack that we needed to finish of our work. It’s hard to say more than that.”
Do you want the season to end:
“We still have four very important games left where we face Napoli, Lazio and Udinese. Losing our captain is very hard for us but I want to repeat that even the youngest players gave everything they could today. The first minutes we suffered from our organisation but then we corrected it and in the second half we really tried to get a draw. Very many players are sacrificing themselves for the team and in the end it’s not right to blame young players like Forte and Garritano.”
Is the last month usefull to plan the next season, more than thinking about the actual?
“I must think about this season even the last four games. Today our mistake made things harder for us, but the attitude was there until the end. We must keep on fighting until the end. We hope to get some players back, otherwise things’ll be much harder.”
Will the biggest investments be made for the midfield?
“The only right thing now is to think about the remaining games and I won’t talk about the future. I don’t want any excuses, now we’ll play four games giving our all whilst the directors care about the mercato.”
