Atalanta’s manager Stefano Colantuono was interviewed by RAI-Sport regarding Marco Livaja: “You have to understand that he has a special character. However, he has to understand that some things you just can’t do, otherwise you end up tripping yourself and your own development.”

The incident that Colantuono is referring to is a training-ground brawl betweem Livaja and Ivan Radovanovic where Livaja hit his team-mate in the jaw causing him to seek medical attention after which Livaja had been laughing at Radovanovic when he was on his way to seek medical attention. Radovanovic has said if the incident: “it’s something that makes me very sad because I consider him to be like my own brother, we  always go to training together despite living very far from eachother. He could have knocked my nose right off if I hadn’t backed away. I have always said he’s a fantastic player but he need to control his temper. This kind of behaviour doesn’t belong in the world of football” the Serbian international concludes.
