Last week, representatives from Sunderland were in Milan to talk with Inter about three of the team’s young players. The Premier League club is interested in Duncan, Bessa and Mbaye. Is it true that Sunderland have shown interest for Mbaye?
“It’s a novelty that came up after the meeting with Inter. I haven’t received any direct confirmation, I know there is an interest. In any case, Inter, so far, have kept him off the transfer market.”
Have Inter rejected multiple offers?
“Yes, I have received requests from Monaco, Bologna, Palermo and Livorno, but all of them have been rejected.”
Will we know what the future holds after training camp?
“According to me, he’s going there to play. After the training camp, we’ll make the right evaluations, then we’ll see.”
Will he play in Serie A or abroad?
“If Sunderland are chasing him, it means that he could be a starting player at Inter. If they let Kovacic play, even Mbaye and Duncan could do it.”
Would he be able to work his way to a spot at Inter?
“Although he is the same age as Kovacic he is considered young. According to me it is better to be loaned for a year and then return home.”
Inter aren’t willing to give him up for any price?
“Not at this time.”
Which teams are looking for him at the moment?
“Every team in Serie B. We will decide with the project as a basis, it doesn’t exclude any alternatives. After the training camp in Pinzolo, we will know everything.”
