Midfielder Marco Benassi, who is currently on loan at Livorno, made his debut for Inter’s first team during last season’s second half and did well. He did, however, get sparse playing time and in an interview with Sports Week Benassi revealed what he believes was the reason: “Perhaps Andrea Stramaccioni wanted to protect me. Maybe it’s a risk to let an 18 year old play for a team that doesn’t do well. When you’re that young, you are the first to be attacked when the results don’t come.”
