It’s true that he nowadays is The Happy One who is back in one of the clubs he loves most, who is back in the league and the city that fascinates him, but despite that José Mourinho has just started his second spell as coach of Chelsea he hasn’t stopped thinking about Inter.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun from a few days ago Mourinho confirmed what he has said so many times before, that his greatest success and the one who is nearest to his heart is victory with Inter in the Champions League: “To win the Champions League with Inter was definitely my biggest success since it was a group of very special people who had a dream and weren’t able to realize it. Despite the incredible investments Moratti had made over several seasons. There were players who had been given everything for Inter and some of them were 38, 37 or 36 years old, so for them it was like saying ‘now or never.’ When I saw what it meant for them and for Interisti I had a feeling of complete satisfaction because I had given them a boost to reach this moment, therefore the joy was enormous.”

The Special One then revealed an anecdote in connection with the match Fiorentina-Inter during the treble season. He was asked what the craziest thing he’d ever done was and responded this way: “We were in a battle with Roma for the Scudetto and we were losing in Florence. We managed to score two goals and came back in the game, we played a draw and were excited because we had been losing. My players celebrated, but then Roma scored a goal in the 93rd minute and passed us by two points. I had to kick something and saw a bag, but the floor was wet so when I went away to kick it I slipped and I almost killed myself. Yet no one laughed or said a word, everyone was quiet because we were so apathetic. When we beat Roma in the final of the Coppa Italia the players imitated what I had done in the locker room, ‘Oooops!’. Everyone did it, everyone! A great moment.”
