Lothar Matthäus fuming: “I’m not dead!”

We’re reached by somewhat bizarre news from Germany this morning where a German court has declared the former Inter midfield-mastero Lothar Mathäus as being deceased due to the fact that the court hasn’t been able to come in contact with the former player who is currently residing in Hungary.

The reason that the court has declared Matthäus dead is that a Bavarian court has tried to send documents to Mathäus regarding a legal dispute the former German nationalteam skipper has with his ex-wife. The efforts on behalf of the court have been fruitless so therefore the court has simply decided to declare him to be legally deceased. Mathäus himself is fuming over the courts decision in an interview with Bild where he states that “it’s an outrage! I’m alive and everyone can see that I’m alive, whether they watch me on the pitch or on TV” the former World Cup winning captain concludes and it’s very difficult to argue with him on that particular point.
