As a surprise, Marco Branca showed up after the game today and also explained why:
“Mazzarri didn’t come because he was very angry over some decisions that the referee made, and that’s something that we all share with him. First of all because of the red card, but also because of other calls that made us angry during the game. For example Belfodil was always fouled before he got the ball, when he received it and dropped it the referee always awarded a free kick against him. It was a great game that deserved a better referee. The penalty? Everyone judges it in different ways, earlier the same type of situation has been punished in another way. Four minutes into the game the referee should’ve handled the situation better. I think the penalty call was fair, but not the red card. There were players near and Handanovic tried to get the ball. Also when Cambiasso got a yellow for a “foul” on Cerci, and other things made us irritated. Especially at the end of the game.”
About the game:
“The attitude in the first half wasn’t the best. Our target is to become competetive again and the goals for this season will be set after seeing how well we can do. We are very satisfied with the work that the coach, the players and especially the new and young players have been doing. This is also a reason to why we are angry because we haven’t got more points and we deserved it. Also the work that has been done by the players and the coach deserves more attention from everyone. We have been able to, and should’ve took more points which is why we are angry.”

Authors comment: Remembering a situation where Inter should’ve had two free kicks, drop the ball and instead a free kick is given to Torino when Cambiasso takes the ball. THAT is what pissed Mazzarri off.
