In Romania, there is talk about a possible contract proposal from the Romanian Craiova that would give Inter’s Cristian Chivu 750 000 for two years. The Romanian club, which currently plays in the country’s second division, is said to then plan to give Chivu a role in the club’s management after the contract has expired. This idea is nothing that attracts Chivu’s agent, Victor Becali, who in Romanian sports.ro closes the door on a return to the home country: “Chivu must initially determine if he will be able to return to play after surgery he underwent. He has still not fully recovered. He has an option of a further year of the contract with Inter and in January we will see if Inter will take advantage of this opportunity. If he would return to play, he will have great offers in economic terms. However I can rule out that he returns to Romania. He played for Craiova many years ago, a choice he made with his father during the time we were negotiating with Steaua Bucharest. Now the opportunity is very little that he goes there. He has won three league titles and a Champions League, I can’t see why he would go to a club that at best can fight for promotion.”
