The goalkeeper confessed: “Taking to the pitch is a fantastic feeling for anyone who plays football, and that’s even more the case once the game kicks off. It’s something everyone should have the possibility to experience. It’s even more intense in the big matches, like the Champions League for instance. Do I want to make it back to that competition? I think everyone does. It’s a pleasure for me to play in goal.”
“A goalkeeper’s role? Sometimes you have to be even more focused than other players because you have to be alert when your team is attacking as well. Even if there’s only one shot in an entire game you have to always be prepared for it: that’s what it means to be a keeper. Not every game is the same and your preparation is very important.”
