FCIN: “Mauro Icardi will stay at Inter in January”

According to  FcInterNews.it, there are no plans to send Mauro Icardi on loan in January. When loan rumours started to emerge in media the Italian news site contacted Icardi’s entourage to find out if there was any truth behind these stories. The rumour is currently nothing but a rumour, since Icardi just recently returned to training and could be available to play the derby against Milan on the 22nd of December.

Yesterday, the striker returned to training with the ball, after a long period of physical recovery following his groin surgery. The level of training could however rise during the next couple of days, and especially next week as the derby is approaching. Icardi’s retun to the squad will surely be appreciated, considering Inter’s difficulty of taking advantage of crosses into the penalty box lately. Rodrigo Palacio is, in spite of his massive work with creating space and being in the right places, not the natural center forward that Inter is currently missing. Palacio would also benefit from a partner in attack who could remove some of the goal-scoring pressure from the Argentinian number 8.
