During a long interview wilth Le Buteur, Ishak Belfodil talked about the possibility of leaving Inter in January considering the limited space he’s been given by coach Walter Mazzarri: “Honestly, I don’t know what to say. Whenever the coach sends me out on the pitch I do my best to lead the team to success. It’s just that if you play five or ten minutes, you can’t really do wonders, knowing that you are working to improve in certain respects. Coming back to the question, I can’t say anything definite about my future right now, especially since I haven’t talked to the managers and coaches. It’s true, I’ve been given little space, but we’ll see later on.”

The former Parma player then talked about yesterday when he received a special award: “It’s an award I accept with great pride, I thank you all. I opted for the Algerian national team, as this is the country I have in my heart, a choice I made without hesitation and with pride.”

Inevitably the Inter player also got a question about the group waiting Algeria in the World Cup in Brazil: “It’s a tough group but I’m optimistic. It’s a draw that gives us hope, I’m convinced that it’s possible to progress from the group stage. But we all need to be on top and above all, the team must prove competitive, something which hasn’t always happened with this team. Which team I’m most afraid of? Belgium, I think many people are afraid of them, given their excellent results in qualifying. If you look at the names there are great players, and I think we have to be afraid of that team.”

Belfodil also proved to be a supporter of a team in particular: “I have always loved Real Madrid and I’m rooting for them still today. Ballon d’Or? I say Slimani (laughs when he mentions the winner of the Algerian Ballon d’ Or)… Seriously, I would give it to Franck Ribery because he is a Muslim like me and had a very good season with Bayern Munich.”
