Hernanes: “Nervous for my debut, but I like my role. Inter feels like home”

“I can do more than what I showed today, but the most important thing this evening was the victory”. This is what Hernanes had to say to Mediaset Premium after his first game in the Inter shirt: “I was a bit nervous before the game since I hadn’t played a game for two weeks. I had been looking forward to this debut for quite some time and in turned out well. The team won and I came close to scoring, I am happy. Juan Jesus says that I can make prophecies? Then I’ll say that we are going to work hard and that this is is the only way for us to achieve out goals. Formation? I like to play to the left on the central midfield, I work in the defensive phase and can also be dangerous going forward. How far can this Inter go? I am confident, the team has great quality. I expect a lot, we hope to get some continuity in the beginning, not just for the results but also to build our self-confidence. This can be decisive. Edy Reja thinks I am bad at defending? I do not agree with him. I used to play further back, but thanks to the qualities I displayed, coaches have started to place me closer to the goal. I like the role that I played today. I also love to defend and help my team out. If I watched the derby? No, I didn’t want to waste my nervosity”, Hernanes laughed.

Mediaset Premium also brought up the Brazilian’s tears while leaving Lazio’s training facilities at Formello for the last time: “In Rome I hade a very beautiful relation with the supporters and the club, it was not easy to leave them. But here at Inter I have been recieved in a fantastic way, I feel at home here. The World Cup? I hope I will be in the squad, Scolari has always called me up and I think things could be even better in the future”.
