Thohir: “I’ll be back in Milan for the game against Cagliari”

Inter president Erick Thohir was interviewed by Gazzetta dello Sport and revealed that he will soon be back in Italy: “I will watch Inter v Cagliari on February 23, considering that I will return to Milan between february 21 to 27.”

Thohir, were you satisfied after the victory against Sassuolo ?

“Absolutely, it was important to pick up again after a difficult period.”

Who did you like most?

“I think the addition of Hernanes has been crucial. With his quality the play was more spread to the center of the pitch and not just on the wings. Then the Brazilian players who can do what he wants with both his feet and above all shoot corners and free-kicks. An important aspect in football where it is increasingly difficult to unlock the games.”

But now it seems that the Brazilian has muscle problems.

“I hope it is nothing serious, given Saturday’s game against Fiorentina. I liked him last Sunday, but I’m sure he will grow much more in terms of his form and interaction with his teammates. And then…”

And then what?

“Against Sassuolo Samuel took advantage from Hernanes’ corner, I thank him also because he proved to be very professional. But the most immediate effect I noticed on Guarin. I got a feeling that the Brazilian’s presence eased the pressure that stopped him. I thought Fredy was more enterprising, free to break away, searching for passes and shots. Soon he’ll also find the goal.”

In the meantime, we look at the attackers…

“I’m optimistic. Though he didn’t score, Palacio’s contribution wasn’t missing since he contributes with runs and assists. Milito is coming back and I hope that the problems that occurred today (yesterday ed.) will not affect. I can’t wait to see Icardi. I think his time has come and I hope to see him on the pitch already in Florence. Similarly, I expect a lot of D’Ambrosio. It’s important that he gets started right away. We can’t only have Jonathan and Nagatomo on the wings.”
