Inter president Erick Thohir spoke to journalists before Inter’s match against Bologna.

He was first asked about his Italian and what he said to the team. He replied: “I haven’t learnt Italian yet. I told the team that we have seven games left and it’s very important that the players and the coach share the same vision – that we need to be playing European football. It’s important for us to get points in these last seven games.

“Do Mazzarri and I share the same vision? Of course, we’ve always had the same vision: he’s our coach. It’s very difficult to have a coach with a different vision.

“Since I arrived here I’ve been saying that Serie A is not an easy league. Look at the results of some of the other teams: they’ve lost some of their home games. That’s the beauty of Serie A: there’s a lot of drama. And I think it’s important that people in Serie A recognise this so that we can monetise the situation and offer a very good product to watch all over the world.

“Guarin? What we’ve done before – not only with him but with all the players – is in the past.  We need to face the next seven games.”

About Inter’s transfer market, the president said: “I think it’s important to add a midfielder for next season but what kind of midfielder? You know me, I never declare anything until we sign. It’s important but when we sign we’ll make an announcement.”
