Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella has praised the impact that Rodrigo Palacio made on his team following their 1-0 victory in their round of 16 battle against Switzerland. The Inter forward replaced Ezequiel Lavezzi in the 74th minute and eventually had a hand in the goal that was made by Angel Di Maria in the final minutes of extra-time, which settled the contest. Alejandro Sabella gave Palacio a special mention for his role in the winning strike.

“The team played a good match and covered all the spaces well,” Sabella told reporters. “The winning passage of play came about with Rodrigo, who knew to pressurise the midfield. That helped us to find the goal.”
