Comment on the first game of this season: What did you like most and what not?
“The boys did very well, it was also hot but the ball moved well. They tried to do what I proposed these days, there was great willingness on the part of everyone. Everything was good or close to, sometimes, like in the past, we got close to the goal often and then we made a few extra touches. I want more malice in front of goal when we play well, that immediately comes to mind.”
Is it time to see the defense of 4?
“I told Thohir that I have done certain things, furthermore I have switched the program to allow Nemanja Vidic to learn the three-man defense, because in his career he has never tried. Then every coach has a different organization from the other, I wanted him to understand the important codes because he knows how to play defense. So I made this choice, as soon as we get the chance, maybe in the next few days, I’ll figure out what I want when we play with 4. Each coach must have an organized team and each input must be digested by his players.”
Are you surprised by what has happened at Juve? And from a shock from which the competitors can benefit?
“I watch our house. I do my utmost for our cause, I don’t peep into someone else’s house.”
What do you say about M’Vila?
“He just arrived, he must be put in place athletically, it has been a long time still. But it showed immediately that touches the ball, has a nice physical structure. He must train, get autonomy, but for what it was, in this test he did well.”
FcIN: How do you rate Ranocchia’s first game as captain?
“Good. I think he has the right age to be able to hold the weight of this important armband. He has the right requirements.”
You insisted on using a metodista in training: are you satisfied with M’Vila?
“I don’t comment on the transfer market, I speak with the club, they know what we have said. M’Vila is a purchase, but Kuz is a reliable player. Right now he seems to be the most suitable.”
How can the fact that the players return at different times affect the preparation?
“We have those who have finished later… For a group that begins a whole new cycle it would have been better to all be here. But that’s okay, we’ll try to work well from the moment we’ll all be.”
