Walter Mazzarri spoke to Mediaset Premium after tonight’s win against Atalanta at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Mazzarri had the following to say: “Atalanta are a good team, they play well and they can create problems against any team this season. We played a good game tonight, we created a lot of chances and we didn’t concede much until late in the game where we became a little tired.” Was I worried at 1-0? “When Matteo slipped I thought that this game would end as badly as the game last season, so I was a bit concerned.”
About Icardi the coach said, “He must have taken a hard hit otherwise you don’t usually go out so early in the game. Atalanta has always been a tough opponent for Inter but they have also created problems for me when I was at Napoli. They usually play on two results and they’re very good on their counter-attacks. We didn’t concede much today which means that we were good and careful.”
The rankings? “I’m not looking at the rankings, I’m thinking about Cagliari.”
