Zenga: “If I return to Inter it will be as a coach”

“I’m not gone, I don’t speak every four years when we have the World Cup, I didn’t coach in Monte Carlo or London. I won’t be a highlander but as Vasco says: ‘I’m still here.'” Thoughts and words from Walter Zenga, interviewed by Chi in this week’s issue. The former Inter player who was nicknamed Uomo Ragno (Spider-Man) talks about him not having changed, not even the look: “When I go around with my daughter I don’t want to be mistaken for the grandfather (laughs.) And I’ll never be a person that you put in a jacket and tie”. And who knows if this isn’t the reason why he hasn’t stayed to be a director at Inter: “Ingratitude from the club? You should ask the same question to Paolo Maldini regarding AC Milan and Alex Del Piero regarding Juventus. But I don’t think the club should become an elephant graveyard full of old glories, if I return to Inter it will be as a protagonist to be a coach.”
