After the official press release, in which it was announced that the role as technical guide of Inter had been given to Roberto Mancini, Erick Thohir revealed his thoughts of this historic choice for the club to Sky. Here are the words of the tycoon: “After lengthy telephone conversations with directors and with Moratti, we all decided together to make this change, focusing on what we consider the best man, the best coach there is in Italy, even though I have appreciated Mazzarri a lot and I thank him. It all really happened in one day and one night and I never thought any other name except that of Mancini. Mancini already knows Inter well and was chosen for the sake of Inter. There was need of fresh air, a different atmosphere and to take the pressure off. Mancini has accepted the project with enthusiasm and is aware of the economic situation of the company, but as far as possible we will try to strengthen the team according to his instructions as early as January. I ask the fans to support the players and coach and to respect the work, but also to play together, we and them as one big team. San Siro has to be our home. You can not play at the San Siro as if we were away.”

I believe Thohir aware of all cost before appointing Mancini. As a business expert, no way with carelessly he didn’t calculate everything include excess this appointment on transfer market.. My analysis, with this appointment of mancio, Thohir send us implicit message that he will invest more.. We will see the secret surprise he give to the fans in near future, the closest is in january..

I kind of like Thohir. He seems honest when he talks. I know he doesn’t look like a leader of a great football club but I like his way of thinking.
And I truly believe in his ability to lead this club. He has made some difficult choices but those seem to be the right one’s. Only mistake in my opinion was extending Mazzarri’s contract. It was too early.
Anyway I hope this latest decision will bring some fresh air and we move to the right direction! FORZA INTER
