Mateo Kovacic hailed by Erick Thohir as his ‘symbol’ of this Inter has renewed his contract until June 2019. The Croatian international signed the deal on Monday and it will earn him an increase to €2 million per year. The previous deal expired in 2017 and as has been the norm with contracts under Erick Thohir, Kovacic’s image rights now belong to the club. Recently Inter’s number 10 has been struggling for form but he’s someone that Mancini sees as a pivotal component of his team going forward.
