Legendary Inter and Italy defender Giuseppe Bergomi turns 51 today. With his 756 appearances in the Inter jersey Bergomi is second only to another Inter captain legend, Javier Zanetti. He scored 28 goals for the nerazzurri and debuted at only 16 years old against Juventus the 30th January 1980 (0-0 in Coppa Italia). Bergomi playe dhis last game at Inter against Bologna in a 3-1-win May 23rd 1999. He spent his whole career at Inter and is still remembered fondly by the fans.
Bergomi or Lo Zio (The Uncle) as he was called won one scudetto (88/89), 3 Uefa Cups (90/91, 93/94, 97/98), one Italian Super Cup and 1 Coppa Italia with Inter. He was also an important part in the Italian World Champion team of 1982. Happy birthday zio Bergomi!
