Zanetti: I’d give my life to continue working for Inter

Rai Sport interviewed Javier Zanetti, here’s what Inter’s Vice President said:

It’s the first Christmas without you on the team.

“Many things have changed, but the most important thing for me is remaining in the club, that’s what I wanted.”

You were the first to arrive and last to leave, how things now?

“There are other commitments, I do other things that are off the field. As I said I always have to be useful to the tea, I’m honored by this position. And then keep training, not every day, but I go to the gym, I run, I play games with Inter Forever which make my day full, I devoted myself to my children and family, I’m attending the managers course, study a little English. I enjoy it because I do it with enthusiasm.”

Are you suffering now that you left the field?

“Yeah, well you miss most of the life in the locker room, the everyday life with the team mates and training. I sometimes think that I was unconscious when I decided to retire.”

What keeps you passionate about your work?

“I will continue to give my life to work for Inter because there are many things that unite us. Now the most important thing, after so many changes, is to be able to build the same Inter that always had those values and I think it is crucial to make a path that leads to success.”

What do you think of Mancini?

“He brings great enthusiasm and makes the team want to go up the table. I see his great desire to bring Inter back to high levels.”

He still talks about third place, do you think you can do it?

“We hope. We know it is difficult and complicated, there are several teams fighting for the same goal.”
