Sport: Martin Montoya, Inter followed him, Juventus got him

It is all a formality now until Juventus can officially sign the bench-warming Barcelona right back.

Inter had followed the La Masia product for a very long time. Mazzarri wanted him to play as right wing-back in his 3-5-2, and Mancini would have liked him as an improvement on our fullbacks. But it is not to be so. The Spaniard looks to be the heir to Lichtsteiner’s throne. He is a step away from Juventus.

“Montoya has studied the proposals and has clearly decided to choose Juventus. The Italian club has offered him a four-year contract and there is already an agreement on salary,” wrote Sport.

Author’s note: What you’re feeling is called Deja Vu. If we could just make an offer for Darmian, I would not bat an eye at Juve signing Montoya.

What are better alternatives in your eyes? Are you happy they went for him instead of someone else?
