Tino-Sven Susic the 22-year-old Hajduk Split midfielder is one of the many players linked to Inter in the beginning of the transfer window. The Bosnian spoke to Corriere dello Sport over the phone and he did nothing to make the voices disappear. On the contrary, he showed a clear will to join Inter.
Susic, do you feel ready for serie A?
“Yes I am ready. I know that your league is more difficult than the Croatian one and that the serie A is one of the toughest leagues in the world. Because the tactical aspect is so important and the players are technical and faster compared to the ones in Croatia. A period of adjustment will be inevitable, but I am sure I will do well.”
Other clubs are after you, but you have told your agents; “I want Inter.” Why?
“Because it is a club with a great history and I am proud that the directors like me. For me it is a dream to wear the Inter shirt.”
You have already told us your wish for 2015..
“I hope that the negotiations go well and I hope to be able to sign the contract with Inter shortly, to play there from the coming season. To play in an important team like that is what I have wanted ever since I was a child.”
Was it the man who discovered you, Milan Rapaic who suggested Inter?
“Milan is convinced that Inter is the ideal club for me, which will help me grow and develop my skills.”
Did you speak to any of the players in the national team about the serie A?
“Yes I have spoken with Pjanic. He told me that it is a great league, but at the same time he assured me that I hae everything to do well there. I hope he is right.”
What sort of player are you?
“It is not easy to describe myself, but I am an offensive midfielder, strong physically and I like to play with the ball at my feet. They say that is my best trait.”
Should you join Inter, then they would acquire another national team player. You played in the World Cup in Brazil.
“Being called up for Bosnia in the World cup was a great surprise. There I understood what it meant to play under pressure and when I returned to Hajduk in summer, I think I have raised my level of performance. I believe I have made notable progress but I can still develop in many aspects. Playing in Italy would help me do so.”
Which Inter players do you know?
“In the past I have played against Kovacic. He wore the Dinamo Zagreb jersey, I wore the Hajduk one. Mateo is a great talent with a big future ahead of him.”
Who were your idols when you were young?
“The Brazilian Ronaldo and Zidane who more or less played in my position”
Many compare you to him (Zidane).
“That is an honor, but I am Susic.”
You have an important last name in the football world: your uncle Safet is the Bosnia NT coach and he was a great trequartista for Yugoslavia and your father was a striker for Red Star Beograd.
“This is also an honor. I want to do well in Italy also because of my last name.”
