Di Marzio: “Shaqiri agreement with Inter, Liverpool counter, now Bayern…”

The latest on the Shaqiri duel from Gianluca Di Marzio.

“Xherdan Shaqiri has been at the center of the transfer news,” wrote the transfer guru. “Inter has reached an agreement with the player after meeting his demands, but have yet to reach a deal with Bayern Munich. The Nerazzurri offered €2 million for the loan plus €12 million for the forced option to buy. But the Italian club faces competition from Liverpool who has offered the player annual wages of €3.5 million and €14 million to the German club. The Reds are slightly ahead in the race but Inter is pushing to sign him. Inter is trying to convince Shaqiri of their long term project and the fact they can offer him the chance to be a starter. Today their coach Roberto Mancini confirmed that he wants the Swiss winger, and it’s possible the two have spoke. But Liverpool continues to be a serious threat.”
