Fulvio Collovati the former Inter defender was interviewed by Itasportpress.it about Inter’s transfer strategy.
Collovati, in your opinion can Inter aim for third place with the signings of Shaqiri and Podolski?
“I would say so. If there were doubts about Thohir’s will to spend they should be gone now, these signings have shown that the will to make the team better is there. Podolski and Shaqiri have added quality. They have arrived in a moment where the chase for the third spot is very even and these two players have given Inter a lot of enthusiasm. Furthermore, with these signings we have seen that the club is really behind Mancini.”
Now what does Inter need to be even more competitive?
“In attack they are fine, so I’d prefer a central defender so that they can find more stability. And a midfielder that can take control over the midfield. The rumors about Thiago Motta and Lucas Leia are not a coincidence.”
Osvaldo’s reaction against Icardi in the Juventus game is still the talk of the town, what do you make out of it?
“Players that switch team every year puzzle me. To be forgiven you need to possess incredible football skills, but Osvaldo does not have those. He reminds me of Balotelli, if he finds it hard to stay in a group then they do well to remove him.”
