Gary Medel has not lost hope to reach the top three of Serie A. Interviewed by the Chilean newspaper La Cuarta, Pitbull speaks of this first part of the season for Inter, where he arrived this summer: “They were a little complicated, these first months, the group has paid for it and now we are not in the places a club like Inter should be. But I am confident that at the end of the championship we will be at least in the top three. Being a starter at Inter from the first game in Italy is not an easy thing. It certainly takes a process of adaptation: Italian football is more tactical than English, and therefore I have to acclimate.”
Medel aims to become the reference point of the Nerazzurri as he is for the Chilean national team: “I’ve earned that over time, and because I am more mature. It is a joy and at the same time a great responsibility, I hope to be a leader for a long time.” Medel also explains what is his favorite position on the pitch: “I like to play as a central defender, in the national team I play where I am placed. But my natural position is on the midfield, in front of the defense, that’s where I like to play most.” Finally, he was asked if would like to return to the Universidad Catolica, the club where he grew up: “I’m a fan of Cato, if there was a chance in the future I would be happy. But first I want to break through with Inter.”

if every players had fighting spirit like him, for every game, then I’d believe 3rd place.
This comment by Medel relates to what I said about Mahdi, and the wonderful fans both at San Siro and in this forum. The players are everything to us. And hopefully us to them too.
Of course, even Mancini had said that he hates to think about third. It should be the Scudetto that Inter should fight for. But third is a start!
if we’ll play like against empoli we’ll be lucky to reach 6th spot
true.
we dont need another CB for this season. we still have Medel and Andreolli for back up. we really need full back or at least put Danilo in RB and Dodo in LB. Campagnaro cant be fullback.
We can try for a CB in the summer. Dodo’s crossing and forward runs are not bad, but he isn’t good defensively. Campagnaro is painful at RB, true, but, he is composed defensively. We are bad as it is in midfield and transition to attack, and lost so many points that we need to keep clean sheets at the least, to still stay in touch with 3rd place, no matter how difficult it is.
It’s your dedication and belief that drives our support! FORZA INTER!
My comment relates to what you have said.
Good to know us fans think alike 🙂
Napoli, Lazio, Fiorentina and maybe even Milan are very tough opponents. We lost too much points against low teams. Anyway we had some good resuls against strongs (except Roma and Fiorentina). Still third place is very tough to reach. Forza Inter & Mancini & Shaqiri.
i wouldnt rule out sampdoria either, they have a solid team, an amazing coach and look to make big moves this January.
Oh yeah, Sampdoria too.
I know third place seems unlikely, but the first step to get anywhre is to believe it can be done. So, I am glad to see most players aiming for third place
