In an interview with Scottish newspaper The Daily Record Mauro Icardi has given a warning to Celtic fans.

“The Celtic fans will create an intense atmosphere but anybody who knows me know that things like that don’t affect me. I will feed off it.”

“If the Celtic fans think they can intimidate me they’re in for a shock.”

“It will be my birthday on Thursday so the only present I want is to return to Italy with a good victory.”

Icardi also spoke about the rumours linking him with teams from the English Premier League.

“I’m flattered because they are great clubs but I’m already at a great club where I can achieve great things.”

The in-form striker also went on to talk about the Champions League.

“Of course I want to be playing in the Champions League, that’s where every player wants to play.”

“We have not given up on qualifying via the league but we must be realistic, that will be difficult now. Our best chance could be by winning the Europa League and that starts against Celtic.”
