Xherdan Shaqiri has been talking to the Daily Record about Inter’s upcoming Europa League last 32 2nd leg against Celtic.
Here is what he had to say:
“We thought the last game was won and perhaps we didn’t show Celtic the respect they deserve.”
“In Italy if we get 2, 3 or even 4 goals up we have to stay focused. We will against Celtic as they have shown that they are capable of scoring goals.”
“It was disappointing to throw a 2 goal lead away but the coach has stressed to us that 3-3 wasn’t a bad result.”
“Teams like Barcelona have lost at Celtic Park in recent seasons so when you look at the draw maybe it’s not so bad. Scoring 3 away goals is always a big positive.”
“Coming from 2 goals down and scoring a late goal will have given Celtic some confidence. That will have given them the belief that they can come to Italy and score.”
“We do respect Celtic but I still believe what I believed before the 1st leg, that we are technically far superior than Celtic.”
