CDS: Murillo talks about his future at Inter

Jeison Murillo has been talking to the Corriere Dello Sport about his upcoming move to Inter in the Summer from Granada CF.

“Inter is a big name with a great history behind it. A club like that is a dream for any player. Inter are a great team and will win again soon. I hope I can help them.”

Murillo also gave his take on Serie A.

“Serie A is a very competitive league, it’s tactical and physical. This is a great opportunity for me and I want to take it. Italy has so many good players but Pirlo is a player I’ve always admired.”

The defender then revealed he has been following Inter’s games since the agreement on his move.

“I watch their games every time they’re on, both in Serie A and in the Europa League. They have done well lately apart from the weekend defeat against Fiorentina. I hope they win the Europa League and finish high in the league.

The 22 year old was then asked if he’s ready to play for a big team.

“Yes, even though I know I need to improve a lot. So far I’ve always been fighting relegation, where as Inter have higher objectives and there will be more pressure. That doesn’t scare me as I want to win trophies and do well at Inter.”

The Colombian then talked about his role models and fellow countryman Fredy Guarin, who he knows very well.

“Ivan Cordoba and Mario Yepes are two legends I grew up with. Cordoba has made history for Colombian football and it was a pleasure to meet him when I got called up for the national team.”

“Guarin? We play together for Colombia and I know him well. Having him as a teammate at club level will be the best because he’s a great person and is having a great season, just look at the goal he scored against Celtic.”
