In an interview published by Sport Bild, Lukas Podolski spoke of the reaction from the Italian fans who have called him the flop of Inter’s winter transfer market: “I’m not a guy who gets in a bad mood because of what happens when I play. I am censorious enough to not let it bother me and move forward. I certainly do not let myself panic.”

The German then continued: “I do not regret at all that I went to Inter, but now you can ask another question, namely whether the mid-season is too short to settle or if a different league would be better for me. At Inter negative situations may have happened, but in everything that happens I always see the bright side. And it is generally easier to criticize those arriving by loan as happened to me this winter. The chapter with Arsenal is not closed because there is no purchase option since it was I who made it clear during the talks with Inter that I did not want any kind of redemption. When you borrow you never know what can happen, so at the end of the season we can all freely analyze the situation and make decisions accordingly.”

Then Podolski also spoke of the 2016 European Championship pursuit that currently seems difficult: “I know my path to arrive at the European Championship in France is complicated, but I will have another season to put myself on display. Loew told me that I have to hold on and then things will happen as a result.”
