Mauri’ agent: The player wants more playing time, not more money

Parma midfielder Jose Mauri has been a spark in Parma’s difficult league campaign.  Mauri’s strong performances for the Tardini side has resulted in interest from clubs such as Inter, Milan, and Wolfsburg. Today, Dino Zampacorta, Mauri’s agent, was interviewed by Milannews.it:

Are Milan interested in the player?

“Milan are highly interested in the boy, and they have been monitoring him for many months.”

Do Milan have the advantage in the race?

“Definitely, because we have a great amount of respect for the Rossoneri.”

Do you have a good relationship with Galliani?

“I have a good relationship with many club representatives like Galliani, Ausilio, and Sabatini.  I also talk to people abroad.  I try to build a good relationship with everyone I meet.”

When will the player’s future be decided?

“Today, Parma’s third auction brought no bidder, which was expected. There will be two more, with the last one being on May 28.  If someone buys Parma and saves everyone, then the boy will be bound by contract until June 30, 2016, so if anyone wants him they will have to contact the club. All of the players will be released if Parma is not purchased.”

Does the player want to join Milan?

“José believes in himself.  He is ambitious and he wants to have a great career.  He will look to gain as many technical guarantees as possible.  Many clubs that we have spoken to have provided techical options that were risky, and we have not put a big emphasis on receiving a higher salary, because the boy wants to take a gamble.”

Is Milan one of the teams that you have talked to?

“Milan needs several new midfielders. They have many experienced midfielders. But Milan is not the only club that has offered guarantees, and there are four other teams interested.  His future will depend on Parma’s financial situation.”
