Good news from England tonight for Inter as Sunderland have confirmed their safety from relegation in the Premier League with a 0-0 draw against Arsenal. Safety was the necessary requirement to trigger the redemption of Ricky Alvarez who is on loan with the Black Cats.

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that the fee should have been 11M Euro as agreed last Summer but the leadership at Sunderland could ask for a small discount given the problems the Argentine has had with injuries this season.

The money from the deal could be used to pay the first parts of fees owed for Marcelo Brozovic and Xherdan Shaqiri and considering Inter will also save on Alvarez’s wages, the first instalment relating to the purchase of Gary Medel could be paid.
