Inter.it reports Erick Thohir’s words about Inter’s mercato and tonights CL-final where both Thohir and Zanetti are present. The two have been invited to attend an event that brings together all the previous 22 CL-winners for UEFA’s 60th birthday. This is what Thohir had to say:
“It’s good to be in Berlin for the Champions League final, which we’re going to host in Milan next year.
“Who will I support? I’d like to congratulate both teams; they’re both very good sides. It doesn’t really matter to me who wins but it’s good for Serie A that Italian sides have done so well in Europe this season. We need to make Serie A more solid.
“Icardi’s renewal? We’re working very hard to build a strong team. We need to support Roberto Mancini and Icardi will be one of our future stars. We want to build a big team together with Roberto Mancini.
“Who will be the next signing? I don’t know. It depends on the market. I don’t like to say any names because you never know how the talks will go. Of course we want to make sure we have a good summer and we’ve brought in some good players in the last few transfer windows. The most important thing is not who we bring in but the fact that we want to build a solid team.
“Mancini’s request for eight or nine players? We’ve already signed some actually – Murillo is coming, for example. It’s not about the number; the most important thing is that the players are able to play as a team for Inter. I don’t believe in a team full of superstars. I believe in a team of players who fight and give their very best for Inter.”
