Corriere dello Sport has been reporting through their website on the details of Inter’s apparent deal for Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.
The first derby of the season in a way for Inter as Milan were also close to the player. There is still no official status but Kondogbia is being spoke of as an Inter player.
The last meeting this morning between Inter and Monaco has apparently seen Erick Thohir give the green light and although there is confirmation by the Inter leadership and French leadership, Milan are still disputing the news that Kondogbia has chosen to accept a move to Roberto Mancini’s Inter project.
This will be Thohir’s most expensive signing since he took over as Inter had to battle Milan’s Adriano Galliani for the player’s services.
Marco Fassone and Piero Ausilio have had to offer more than the 35M Euro requested by Monaco. Kondogbia will now be the highest paid player of Inter who will make more than 4M Euro per season.
For Thohir it was really important to the economic effort that will be mitigated by the terms of payment which will be formalised in the coming hours/days.
