Before responding to the call from the National team, Davide Santon stopped and talked to Inter Channel where he commented on the afternoon draw against Sampdoria.
“I’m really glad to be back in the National team after being away more than a year. I’m disappointed over the draw, but at least we managed to get a point. The coach always gives many advises, he wanted to be sure that that everyone did the right things.”
“Maybe they didn’t call me because it takes to connection flights from Italy to go to Newcastle (Laugh).The match was difficult because they changed a lot then when they scored they defended with ten men and tried to close down the game. The result is just, we did much better in the second half and should have got a penalty which wasn’t given”.
