After a dreadful display from the Nerazzurri in the Derby della Madonnina it is now time for the team to show their fans what they really are made of. Inter have not won a game in the Serie A since the 6th of January, for a team fighting for Champions League-places that is horrible. On Wednesday Inter face Chievo at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Can Inter win this one? On Sunday we will find out! Here are some interesting numbers from Whoscored presented to you via the Twitter account InterStats

Goal-Scoring

Inter have not won a game in the Serie A since the 6th of January when we won 0-1 against Empoli. Since then we have (like usual) scored one goal per game (apart from the Sassuolo & AC Milan game) but we have drawn the games instead. Chievo are better at scoring goals than Inter at least if we look at the stats. Chievo have scored 27 goals this season and Inter have scored 26 this season. Chievo’s Top Goalscorer in the club is Alberto Paloschi, who has now moved to the Premier League and Swansea, before he left he managed to find the net 8 times. Inter also have a striker as Top Goalscorer in the club, Mauro Icardi, he has also scored 8 times this season.

Goal-Stopping

Inter have lost their top-spot in the “Least goals conceded” category. We are still second and have only conceded 17 goals so far, that’s 2 more than Napoli’s 15. Chievo have conceded 30 goals this season, Chievo have the 8th worst defense in the Serie A but then again Roma who are 5th in the league have only conceded 5 more goals than Chievo. Chievo have conceded 4 goals from Set Pieces, Inter have also conceded 4 goals from Set Pieces.

Passing the ball

Inter average 521 passes per game with each passing streak lasting about 4.8. Chievo’s passing-stats are a whole lot worse than Inter’s. Chievo average 407 passes per game with each passing streak lasting about 3.7. These stats show that Inter are a lot better at passing the ball than Chievo, Inter average are more passes per game and they miss less passes than Chievo do as well. This can also be seen in the average possession stats where Inter average 55% possession and Chievo average 44%.

Best players so far

Federico Mattiello is Chievo’s highest rated Whoscored player with a 7.14 rating. Jeison Murillo is both Inter’s highest rated player and the highest rated player between the two teams with a 7.22 rating. Samir Handanovic is the only player between the two teams to appear in every game so far this season.
