Player ratings: Inter 3 – 0 Juventus

Inter gave a heroic performance in the return leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal against Juventus at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district. The Nerazzurri came back from 0-3 deficit from the first leg to win 3-0 after 90 minutes but still lost the match on penalties after Rodrigo Palacio was the only player to fail to convert his penalty kick. Before that, Marcelo Brozovic had given a Man of The Match performance by scoring a brace with fellow Croatian winger Ivan Perisic finding the back of the net as well.

Juan Pablo Carrizo – 6,5: Had absolutely nothing to do for 2 hours but pulled off to magical saves to prevent Juventus from deciding the tie before the penalties.

Davide Santon – 6: Fought hard & ran a lot up & down Inter’s right flank helping out in attack & defense. Great comeback after the poor derby performance.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6,5: Is much better as a central defender than he is a full-back. Looks more composed & natural in the middle of defense than out on wing.

Juan Jesus – 7: The captain for the day behaved like a true captain should. Led by example by fighting, running & annoying Juve’s attackers.

Yuto Nagatomo – 6: Gave 110% today in every rush, challenge & loose ball. Had a good understanding with Perisic on the left wing. Good job.

Geoffrey Kondogbia – 6: Only played 45 mins before being brought off at half time with a contusion to the head. When he played he played really well.

Gary Medel – 7: Inter’s own Duracell rabbit. Ran like a man possessed in midfield chasing the life out of Juve’s midfield. Hard as nails.

Marcelo Brozovic – 8: What a comeback! Scored twice & gave an all round man of the match performance. Directed Inter’s midfield today. Epic performance.

Ivan Perisic – 7,5: Very good performance by the Croatian winger. Maybe a bit too passionate when he grabbed a choke hold on Cuadrado & was booked.

Eder – 7: Demonstrated today why Ronaldo & Mancini have been singing his praises. His movement was exceptional & unlucky not to score.

Adem Ljajic – 6,5: Had a quiet game compared to his teammates & missed a few chances as well as being unlucky by hitting the bar.

Jonathan Biabiany – 6: Another solid performance by Inter’s French sprinter who is lightning quick when given space to run into with the ball.

Rodrigo Palacio – 6: Intelligent player who always plays intelligently but was unlucky when hitting the crossbar in the penalty shootout losing the match.

Rey Manaj – : Cam on in the 113th minute & didn’t play long enough to be marked. Scored his penalty in the shoot out with ease.

Roberto Mancini – 8: Got everything right from tactics to the team’s mentality to the match. God knows what he told the team but they had fire in their eyes.

Inter’s performance – 8: Great performance by the team. Sure, it was Juve’s second team but it was still Juve they played off the pitch for 90 minutes.

Andrea Gervasoni – 4: Incredibly inconsistent & allowed a level of challenges that wouldn’t have been allowed in rugby. Missed at least 3 red cards.
