In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Geoffrey Kondogbia spoke about differences in leagues, Mancini, Toure comparison and his view on Inter’s hopes of reaching UCL:

”I can do better though I’m young and I have time in front of me to show what I can do.” He continued, “The 38 million? This is a situation that I know and I have already proven: at 21 I moved to Monaco for 20 million in July and then I knew what I was going to meet. Psychologically it doesn’t affect me.”

What differences have you found between Serie A, Ligue 1 and the La Liga?
“Every league has its own game. Serie A is the most tactical tournament, but the mind  must also be used in Spain and in France.”

What impression has Mancini made on you?
“He is a coach who gave me a lot of confidence, one who convinced me to come to Inter. I want to do well to repay him.”

Mancio wants to turn you into the new Yaya Touré. Is it a comparison that you like?
“Very much, but now it is up to me to defend, attack and score as Touré. I have the attributes. But now I have to work and improve because I am only 23 years old. Me and the Ivorian teammates at Inter next year? It would be great,a real dream “.

Given the difficult start in 2016, and some bench time for you, don’t you regret having said no to Milan to sign for Inter?
“The ranking answers for me … I would do the same choice, a natural decision in which i haven’t second thoughts.”

What has been lacking at Inter this season to hit the target of Champions League?
“Mathematically it is not over yet and we must continue to believe in our chances of finishing third. It’s a pitty we left points in the road  that we should not have missed: We have paid dearly these mistakes.”

Regarding the European championships, you haven’t been called up recently by Deschamps but do you still believe in getting selected to the national team?
“In the last two friendlies I was injured, and i know this was the reason not been called . It is not a problem not to be called  when I do not deserve it. For the moment I have not done enough to go to the Europeans.”

Do you think next season Inter can fight until May, and not just until January, for the Scudetto?
“When I look at our team I know that we miss nothing to win the title: we have strength, quality and a nice group of young people. Maybe we need just a little ‘more experience and cunning”.

This year also the winning flag goes to Juve?
“In football you never know, but they have a great advantage.”

How important is for an athlete the training?
“For me it’s everything. It makes you grow up and allows you to become one of the best. It is important to work in order to improve and never become demoralized, even in difficult times.”
