Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte report that Santos tried to renew the contract of Gabigol past 2021 but the 1996 attacker rejected in favour of a move to Europe. The striker currently on international duty at the Olympics last signed an extension in 2014 but it looks unlikely he will see out the entirety of it.
