According to Gianlucadimarzio.com, Inter is interested in signing Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko. It is reported that the player’s agent had a meeting earlier today with Inter representatives in Milan. It is no secret that the French midfielder wants to leave Newcastle following the club’s relegation from the English Premier League, citing the “need of playing at the highest level” as his reason. However, Newcastle and its coach, Rafa Benitez, have warned earlier this week that they will not sell their prized midfielder on the cheap. It is reported that Newcastle has put a £35 million price tag for Sissoko.

It is still unclear, however, whether Inter new owners want to sign both Moussa Sissoko and Joao Mario or the owners only see Sissoko as an alternative to Joao Mario. Frank de Boer, meanwhile, sees Joao Mario and Moussa Sissoko as “interesting players who could complement one another.”
