He scored a goal but a point was all that was won against Palermo. Mauro Icardi, after the final whistle, spoke to Sky: “Scoring goals is always nice, but not winning won’t do. We wanted 3 points, we created much, but we couldn’t see it through. The problems? Today in the first half we moved around the pitch the way our coach wanted us to, but unfortunately we weren’t precise in front of goal. The objective of reaching the Champions League does not add pressure: the club is making tremendous investments. But we cannot continue to give these performances: we are ambitious. The renewal? It has never been a problem for me. There have been rumours for three years, but I’ve always said I wanted to stay. We found an agreement with the club and there aren’t any problems”.
