Directly from news paper The National, Diego Forlan recounts his time at Inter.
“I’ll always remember the 4-3 loss to Palermo in our second game of the season in 2011. It was a great game, we took the lead, and, from a team that had just won the Champions League and Club World Cup, it was expected. We played a 3-4-3 which initially worked but in the end we lost 4-3. It was a nightmare for the fans. Then we drew 0-0 with Roma and lost 3-1 at Novara. It was an awful result and a bad run of form. Our coach, Gasperini, was sacked. Inter lost its step and never regained it. We ended up finishing the season in 6th, certainly not where we wanted to be.”
